January Mission Focus
Hypothermia Shelter
During the coldest winter months (December through March), we work in partnership with other churches and Ventures in Community Hypothermia Outreach Program to provide emergency shelter for persons who are homeless. The temporary homeless shelter is located on Route 1 at Rising Hope United Methodist Mission Church. The shelter provides food and 24 beds per night. Volunteers provide a hot, home cooked dinner and breakfast bags and staff the shelter overnight. Aldersgate provides volunteers on Tuesday nights. To volunteer, email klatta@fourthwave.com.
During January, we will be collecting the items below for those who use the shelter:
• Tuna salad kits
• Chicken salad kits
• Individual-snacks (cookies, Goldfish, fruit cups)
• Individual beverages (such as Capri Suns)
• Bottled Water
• Individual instant oatmeal packets
• Individual instant grit packets
• Individual cereal servings (bowls, tiny boxes)

Please use your own bags and put them in the collection boxes in the vestibule near the welcome desk from January 6-January 20.
